No right pass. Elected or not, if the inhabitants of the Picard plateau do not sort their trash well, there is no collection. Elena Camélia-Ferté, municipal councilor of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée recently paid the price. Its container was marked with famous red sticker marking a refusal of collection. The reason: non-compliance with the new sorting rules.
As a reminder, the community of communes of the Picard Plateau has set up a new system since January 1. Ambassadors regularly check the contents of the poultry bags. And if the waste contains elements which must go in point of voluntary contribution, the ripper does not take.
“An infantilizing method”
Elena Camélia-Ferté’s misadventure inspired her a short video on her social networks. Saint -just recognizes this: there were plastic packaging in its non-useful waste bag. Hence the refusal of collection. But this episode also fed some thoughts on his part.
“The cutter to check the content of the trash cans is not cool at all,” she explains. “It is an infantilizing method.” And to add in message to the service of the community of communes: “If you want it to work, you have to give the tools to the inhabitants. Like yellow trash cans for packaging. ” The municipal councilor believes that transporting waste sorted to the voluntary contribution points, this can be complicated for the elderly or the most distant. “Give us the means, of grace”.
A decision that dates from 1992
Contacted, the Picard plateau recalls that the organization of the garbage collection dates “a political decision taken in 1992.” Namely a collection of trash cans per week supported by a network of voluntary contribution points, for plastic or cardboard packaging, as well as for paper.
“We can consider a second passage of the skips for the garbage cans, continue to the community of communes. “But that would have a significant budgetary cost.” Cost which, inevitably, would be found on the bill of users. Knowing that, unlike other community of communes, there are no fines of delivered for this breach.
Community services recognize, however, that the question of sorting is debated among the inhabitants of the territory. Among elected officials too. Deaf first. More openly since.
