The very rich hours of the Duke of Berry: masterpiece in light
It will be the big event of the year, from June 7, 2025, the monument will reveal an “exceptional” exhibition dedicated to the very rich hours of the Duke of Berry, a manuscript “the best known in the world will go to the Palume Game”, proudly claims Mathieu Deldicque. This emblematic treasure of the history of art, decorated with gold, Lapis-Lazuli and Silver, will be presented in the gallery of paintings. The public will be able to dive into this universe thanks to a 500 -page catalog and initiation workshops for the youngest. Particular attention will be paid to the restoration of the manuscript, which mobilized international experts.
Watteau worlds and a princess of Monaco
Two other exhibitions will enrich the programming: one exploring the work of Antoine Watteau, one of the most influential painters of his time, and the other retracing the fascinating history of a princess of Monaco in Chantilly, Marie-Catherine Brignole, secretly fallen in love with the Duke of Condé which will lead her to the equestrian city. It was she built the Betz castle.
The estate will also endeavor to enhance its hydraulic heritage, with an immersive exhibition on the canals and basins designed by the Grand Condé. The objective is to show how these facilities contributed to the art of living and to the entertainment of the time.
Halloween, Valentine’s Day and Christmas at the castle
Spring will open with the traditional Easter egg hunt, followed by the essential picnic in white on June 14, which should accommodate more than 8,000 participants. Summer, meanwhile, will be marked by outdoor shows and the electro festival on the day of the music festival.
