Formerly Prélotshop, the Petite Epicerie du Coin just opened at the beginning of the year. Amélie Correia took over the municipal grocery store in Péroy-les-Gombries on January 10. She is the daughter of the owners of the restaurant l’Hirondelle in Baron.
It all started when Richard Kubicz, mayor of Péroy-les-Gombries, came one lunchtime to the Hirondelle restaurant located in Baron and suggested that Amélie, the owners’ daughter, take over the municipal grocery store. “She was dying,” he confides.
Amélie immediately responded positively to the proposal. “I said to myself “come on, why not?”… It’s another experience.” She also took over license 4 from the municipality, to turn this grocery store into a bar. “I was motivated,” she says. You might as well do everything at once, it’s a way to keep the village alive.”
Sunday January 19, the Prélotes and Prélots (residents of Péroy-les-Gombries) shared a drink at the grocery store, to celebrate the arrival of the new managers. An initiative that brings together the inhabitants of this small village of 1,300 inhabitants. “It brings life to the city, the staff are welcoming and kind” proudly proclaims Christian Grenier, retired and resident of the town for 70 years.

She will also provide bread
La Petite Epicerie du Coin offers a variety of Franco-Portuguese products, recalling the origins of the traders. In addition to drinks from the bar, they will also offer charcuterie boards and bread. “It’s good that she’s depositing bread,” notes a member of the municipal team. We can stop by before leaving for work.”
The small business aims to organize karaoke evenings, board games and even theme evenings. This multifunctional place aims to bring together all the inhabitants of Péroy-les-Gombries, all generations combined. From retirees to members of the municipal team to football club players.
Its location is strategic, not far from the multifunction room and the market square. The store opens Tuesday to Saturday from 7:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday until 1 p.m.
