“I’ve always been right-wing.” William Boucher49 years old, bank account manager in Compiègne, is the new departmental delegate Reconquest! for the Oise.
“This is my first political commitment,” he said. Eric Zemmour took me out of my house, because of his ideas that I found myself on.” Originally from Maubeuge where he has his family, he grew up in Crépy-en-Valois, before living in Compiègne for seven years.
“Éric Zemmour brought the spark,” says this father of two daughters aged 14 and 18. Many of our activists got involved in politics thanks to him.”
Like everyone else, he first discovered it in the show On n’est pas couche by Laurent Ruquier. Then as a columnist on CNews. Before he launched into the 2022 presidential election. “I was responsible for the “bikers with Zemmour”,” he explains.
Banker and rugby player
At the time, Guy-Eric Imbert was departmental manager of the Friends of Eric Zemmour (AEZ), an association created in 2020. “Before December 5 and the Villepinte meeting, which marks the birth of Reconquête!”, indicates Guy -Eric Imbert, now responsible for Reconquête! of Hauts de France, after having also been the party’s first delegate from Oise.
Norbert Despresles, from Maignelay-Montigny, candidate for the 2022 and 2024 legislative elections in the 1st constituency, held this position of delegate from Oise. Before handing over to Éric Journey, predecessor of Guillaume Boucher, proposed by Guy-Eric Imbert and dubbed by Eric Zemmour. “They were very efficient, but this work is demanding and they gave way, due to their busy professional schedule,” confides Guy-Eric Imbert.
Coming out of anonymity slowed down Guillaume Boucher at the start. His first contact with the public dates back to the arrival of Eric Zemmour, who came to the Oise to defend farmers. “I presented myself in front of 250 people.”
Is it easy to officially campaign for Éric Zemmour? “Those who are against are sometimes aggressive, but there are not that many of them,” intervenes Guy-Eric Imbert. “My professional entourage is aware of my commitment,” says Guillaume Boucher.
Legislative 2025, municipal 2026…
This second row of the leisure team of the Rugby club of Compiègne, “I have been playing for thirty years”, is also involved in the entertainment association of the Haut des Sablons district, where he lives.
Its mission is to structure the party in Oise which has 700 members. Anticipated legislative elections? Presidential? “We are on alert,” says Guy-Eric Imbert.
In the legislative elections of June 2024, Reconquest! presented a candidate in each constituency of Oise. And the 2026 municipal elections? Compiègne, for example, where Philippe Marini (LR) is representing himself. “In each constituency, we establish links with right-wing movements,” confides Guillaume Boucher, who wears a Reconquête! pin. We position ourselves more on a union of the right. It would be a matter of trying to integrate ourselves into lists with which we are familiar. But municipal elections are not “political” elections in the strict sense.” “We are ready to present ourselves without a flag, if it is a right-wing list without a label,” adds Guy-Eric Imbert.
“The RN is delighted to demonize us”
“In our country, no one, in their youth, fought in the street with a shaved head and a bomber jacket” indicates Guy-Eric Imbert, regional delegate for Reconquête! in Hauts-de-France. A message addressed to the National Rally: “They are delighted to demonize us because they were.”
The Reconquest program! differs from that of Rn, especially on the economic level. “The gathering has an economic program that I describe as “neo-socialist”, continues Guy-Eric Imbert. We have a right-wing economic program. We want a reduction in costs.”
The Reconquest manager! des Hauts-de-France sees his party as “a resurgence of the RPR of the 1990s, embodied by men like Philippe Seguin or Charles Pasqua. But not the RPR of the period that followed, the decrepitude of Jacques Chirac and the betrayal of Nicolas Sarkozy.”
He considers that the entry of Eric Zemmour made it possible to broaden the debate “on subjects that no one could talk about without having a problem”.
“At Reconquest!, we say and we will do”
On security. “The major problem is penal policy. We will put in place the presumption of self-defense for law enforcement. It is not normal for a police officer to find himself in police custody after doing his job. A specific system must be put in place to analyze the facts.”
Guy-Eric Imbert does not believe in Bruno Retailleau, still Minister of the Interior, accused by the left of being far-right. “If they come to power under the LR label, they will do nothing. We say and we will do.”
He considers that the left, which certainly denies the “great replacement”, now draws the same observation as Eric Zemmour. “Jean-Luc Mélenchon calls this “creolization” and says that it is positive. But he says this for electoral reasons. On the other side, there is the “soft right” which says that we will never be able to resolve the immigration problem.”
Ban the veil, reinstate the offense of irregular situation…
He confirms the party’s desire to ban the Muslim veil in the street. Talks about remigration for “foreigners who have been unemployed for more than six months… 49% do not work. And also for criminal foreigners. Only the most dangerous are required to stay in an administrative detention center. Those who are the subject of an Oqtf can leave the territory, whenever they want and if they want.
He mentions the reestablishment of the offense of illegal residence. “I believe that many people have an interest in ensuring that migrants continue to arrive. This is the case for certain associations and certain lawyers who find a financial windfall there.” Reconquest! will close free movement to foreigners from outside the Schengen area within the European Union.
Elimination of aid to foreigners, abolition of land rights
And above all: “Stop the sucking pump of foreigners, in particular the social assistance which is delivered to them almost automatically. These people must understand that there is nothing more for them in France. This will put an end to their desire to come to France. And if they were to arrive, they would have to be locked up until they return to their country of origin. Suffice it to say that there will be fewer candidates for the trip.” Reconquest! will also abolish family reunification and land rights. “We want to be able to choose who comes and who stays with us. Like everyone in their own house.”
What does he say to the left who says that France needs immigration? “It’s a slaveholder’s point of view. I don’t understand these people who need a stranger to pick up their trash or pick up takeaway food.”
Then he mentions the case of the Franco-Algerian writer Boualem Sansan, held in prison in Algeria for obscure reasons. “France has the means to put pressure on him to release him. For example, it can refuse all visa applications. But our current leaders have no will. Consequence: everyone walks all over us.”
