Friday February 28, 2025 will mark the start of a new tradition in Saint-Valery-sur-Somme: the Valericains Trophies Evening, a unifying event which highlights local talents and initiatives. Organized at the Entrepôt des Sels, this ceremony intends to celebrate the remarkable achievements of its inhabitants in various fields, beyond sport.
Inspired by the sports trophies of yesteryear, this new formula broadens its horizons. Athletes, volunteers, artists, entrepreneurs, students or associations, all those who participate in the dynamism of the municipality can be distinguished. The objective is to promote the commitment and successes that make Saint-Valery-sur-Somme shine, while creating a moment of conviviality where Valericans come together to celebrate together.
The selection of nominees is based on three stages. Throughout the year, municipal teams identify initiatives having a positive impact on the municipality. Then, a call for applications will be launched at the end of the year, allowing everyone to propose a person or a collective, or even to apply via an online form or at the town hall. Finally, the applications will be examined according to criteria such as local impact, the exceptional nature of the achievement or the mobilization generated. The selected candidates will then be supported to prepare their participation in the event.
The distinctions will cover a wide range of categories, highlighting unifying associations, artists promoting Saint-Valery, innovative ecological initiatives, young people carrying out remarkable projects or even neighbors invested in their neighborhood. A special prize, the Valerican Personality of the Year, will also be awarded by the public during the evening, in recognition of a global and inspiring commitment.
Applications are open until January 15, 2025. Whether you are a witness or actor in a great initiative, do not hesitate to participate.
