There CGT declared the Thursday December 12 day of mobilization and strike for theindustry. The union has planned 38 rallies and 42 initiatives on production sites throughout France. In theOisethe CGT decided to march at Trosly-Breuil (east of Compiègne) and in Beauvais, on two sites affected today by job cuts plans.
In Beauvais, the call for assembly is set for 2 p.m. on the AGCO-GIMA site. AGCO, which with its subsidiaries runs a veritable tractor empire (Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Valtra brands, etc.) announced on October 3 a social plan threatening 103 jobs. Employees had already mobilized on December 3.

In Trosly-Breuil, the gathering will take place at 10 a.m. on the WeylChem-Lamotte site (chemistry) where 101 layoffs (for “129 job cuts” according to the CGT) were announced at the end of the summer, for 2025 .
“It’s a national call to save industrial jobs,” explains Georges Du Rouchet, secretary of the local CGT union. “In Compiégnois, the most threatened site is that of WeylChem. More than 120 job cuts have been announced for a site which has a total of 750 across four companies,” he explains. Until 2014, these companies constituted a single company, Clariant, before being resold into several units. “Our fear is that the entire area will be affected by these announcements in the medium term,” explains the CGT.
The WeylChem site faces stiff Chinese competition in its production area. The parent company decided to make this cut after the loss of its main client from 2025.
The civil service, already mobilized on December 5, called to join the movement for industry.
