“The opinion we give as CISL of the meeting is positivewe have expressed a general appreciation of many measures contained in the stability law (budget, Ed.) because they incorporate many proposals, demands that we have advanced as CISL in recent months”, even if “there are parts of the maneuver that in our opinion can and they still need to be changed and improved”. This was said by CISL general secretary Luigi Sbarra speaking at the end of the meeting between the government and the unions at Palazzo Chigi on the maneuver. “In particular – continued Sbarra – the cutting of the wedge is significant fiscal and contributory, which now becomes structural, and expanded up to 40 thousand euros, and which sees 14 million workers benefiting from this intervention. We appreciated the extension of the consolidation of the first two Irpef rates to support low incomes and the restoration of full indexation of pensions with respect to inflation is of absolute value. Also important, according to Sbarra, is the financing for the renewal of public contracts for the next three-year period 2025-2027 with an allocation of 5.5 billion euros. A request from the CISL to extend the tax relief on performance pay and fringe benefits is recognized for the next three years, just as we consider the resources allocated to support families and birthrates and also the increase in the national health fund to be important”.
