CGIL and UIL confirm the general strike against the maneuver. The general secretaries of the two trade unions said it, Maurizio Landini And Pierpaolo Bombardieriat the end of the meeting with the government at Palazzo Chigi. “We confirm that It’s a terrible budget law which does not give our country a future. The reasons for the strike are absolutely confirmed” declared the leader of the CGIL, Maurizo Landini, leaving the government headquarters after today’s meeting.
“It is not clear to me whether there is still a margin for discussion, because there are additional resources, or if it is a discussion already closed” the general secretary of Uil, Pierpaolo Bombardieri, asked during the meeting. “It’s not in the maneuver not even a euro to make investments for safety at work. On healthcare, then, it is true that in absolute terms more resources have been invested than in the past, but investments in healthcare must be measured as a percentage of GDP. But really couldn’t anything else have been done? Healthcare conditions have worsened for everyone” added the Uil leader.
“If the government decides to change some decisions and calls us tomorrow, fine. Us we never shy away from comparisonbut it seems to me that today two different visions of a maneuver have been reflected, albeit with some availability I don’t think there is any willingness on the part of the government to change the choices” added Bombardieri at the end of the meeting.
A dissonant voice with respect to these two positions, that of the CISL leader Luigi Sbarrawho defined the meeting as a “positive meeting”, reiterating that “we have expressed appreciation for many measures, there are parts of the maneuver that need to be changed and improved”. In particular, the CISL defines the cutting of the wedge as “significant” and appreciates the “measures for the family and birth rate”.
